Paper Smooches and a little catch-up

I made a card!  I know...it may not seem like a big deal to some of your uber-crafty ones and I do create stuff every day....to sell....but this time I made a one-of-a-kind card that I'm pretty proud of :)  It's for the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge (check it out here):

The challenge was to make a card inspired by this photo of a Martha Steward pincushion craft

So...here's mine - colour and fabric inspired for sure, tufted with buttons instead of stitching and yes, sewn on....somehow a card feels naked without stitching to me.  The tree is a stamped image from Kim Hughes stamps when she worked for Cornish Heritage Farms.

And...a little catch-up.  My Simple Joys are still keeping my life full of joy...but not so much adding hours to my days to actually blog about them all so here are a couple of the latest:

Simple Joy 290/365:  Underwood 450.  I bought this beauty at my local thrift store for $5 the other day - I've been looking a little for a manual typewriter to keep in my kitchen, on my buffet where I've got my Project Life set up.  This will allow me to journal as I go instead of having to run downstairs and fiddle with everything making the settings right on my printer/computer.  Yay.  The ribbon was dry so I bought a ribbon made for a calculator/adding machine and refitted it to the original spools on this typewriter!

and Simple Joy 291/365:  Wool!  I found this purse there today too - handcrafted wool from Nepal....and yes, that tag says "50 cents"  Now the dilemma....use the purse as is, or pull it all apart and scrapbook/card with it.  Hmmmnm.
Hugs.

Love that you are using some of Kim's CHF stamps! And wow! I love your stamping with the buttons--this tree pops off the page! Great stitching--I need to do more of that on my cards:) Beautiful card! Thanks so much for joining in the fun and playing along with us over at the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge:)

ps...LOVE your new typewriter!

Your idea is adorable with the fabric! I loved all of Kim's stamps that she did for Cornish Heritage and how fun you used it. Great take on the SPARKS challenge.

We totally saw that purse there the other day and almost bought it an hour before you were there. We bought the pogo stick instead and that cool purse I showed you for my trip. Glad you got it! Next time I see one like it I will buy it for you!
